All learning relies on the way we perceive the world and how we process what we perceive.
How we perceive the world depends on how well organized our sensory systems are.
For example, you may have good vision but find that the print moves or becomes blurry. You may hear quite well but often miss some of what someone (e.g., teacher) says to you.
If the information coming into your brain is imprecise, even the best ability to process is going to end up with deficient learning.
When the information coming in is easier to deal with, processing can often be supported, learned and improved upon.
You may have been learning for years, and may have found ways to manage. You may be putting a whole lot of work into what others seem to find easy. Let us help you develop the abilities you need by supporting the underlying neurological systems that need to be more efficient.
Our Neurodevelopmental and Educational Program, Optimize Learning Potential, has three main components:
A neurodevelopmental home program
Exercises to do at home for a short while every day, tailored to the individual’s needs and preferences.
We offer 10-12 hours of training for clients, parents, caregivers and other support people in short units of 1-2 hours at a time, to help you understand your challenges (or those of your child), and better understand the neurodevelopmental home program.
Three sessions focused on how to learn and express yourself more effectively. These are tailored to the thinking and processing styles of the individual.
